NPT (National Pipe Thread) and BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread) are two commonly pipe thread standards. NPT threads are commonly used in North America and BSPT threads are more commonly used in Europe and Asia. Both standards have tapered threads that create a tight seal when tightened together. Widely used in water, gas, oil and other pipelines connection.It is important to note that NPT and BSP threads are not compatible with each other due to their different designs and measurement systems. Adapters or fittings would be needed to connect NPT and BSP threads.

NPT threads feature a tapered design, where the thread diameter gradually narrows toward the end. This taper enables a secure seal as the threads tighten. In contrast, BSP threads have a parallel design, maintaining a consistent thread diameter along their length. To achieve a seal, BSP threads rely on a sealing washer or sealant.

On the other hand, BSP threads are prevalent in Europe, Asia, Australia, and parts of Africa, commonly applied in plumbing, gas fittings, and the automotive industry.
